Teleport 03:22
That bird on the wire must have so much to write home about. A drive through the morning to take away a night you could have done without. An IKEA skyline - bouncing back a brilliant sun. The coffee and kindness makes the distance between us not seem so long. But it's only ever half enough - I could never get enough of your light. Just know that tomorrow there will be nothing to be sorry about. Reality's coming through to cast this dreamer out. There's so much i want to say to you that the conversation never leads to - like how i really need you. But it's only ever half enough - I could never get enough of your light. - Or those eyes. That bird on the wire must have so much to write home about. A drive through the morning to take away a night you could have done with.

Time has no feeling when you can't quite grasp the meaning. This waking World's been leading me astray. Race through the weeks - weekends peak to peak. Just to find that nothing lies in wait. But hey - If you need me. I'll be on the stage, to bleed out all this love i give away. Take all of Me. I hear Birds in the ceilings and there's flowers in your sink. There's hope in all the wishing I still keep. Just hold to the true light i brought to you. It helped you through but it left me here to waste. But hey - If you need me. I'll be on the stage, to bleed out all this love i give away. Take all of Me.

It's nice to find that you're still around. I thought you'd leave a long time ago. What did you think of the sound? Oh yeah - I knew it, My guitar was up way too loud. What are you doing now? Oh No - I can't - I still live far too far away from this town. But type your number down. I will call you up - I still owe you a round. But could you force me to change? Because you forced this to start. It's nice to find that you're still here. I thought by now that you'd just dissapear - with those eyes. The way you look with those bright wild eyes. It drives me wild. But could you force me to change? I'm too set in my ways - and I don't want to go down as just another mistake. It's nice to find that you're still around.

Landslide 02:38
Fading light. Walking through the streets in the faded light. You're just trying to figure out which ''Me'' you like - That's a question I've been asking my entire life. You're bright wild eyes. Your bright wild eyes in the morning light. I'm still trying to figure out if there was a part of you I didn't like. We didn't think of the consequence. I guess that those great nights are all we'll get. Tomorrow you'll be racing back home again. Feel the land slide. Ocean drive. I'll be clearing out my head with this ocean drive. It's just something I've been doing now for half my life. Go on and ask indifferent seas. For the same sign I've been holding out to find. Did I leave it all behind when I traded out your eyes? - and I didn't think of the consequences at all. Feel the land slide.
5.
On the warm summer nights when you don't have to drive - trying to make some sweet escape. From the darkness that hides in your mind, sometimes you've got to let somebody in. 'Cause if you just set your sights on the truth that resides in each and every living thing - you'll find this life is such a finite thing. So excuse me if I refuse to fill your glass. While I'm still trying to find some truth in all the days that came to pass. See it with your own eyes. Hear it in her voice. Feel it in your own life. The writing's on the walls. You can't say no. On the long endless nights when you don't want to try - you'll sit there planning your escape. From the darkness that hides in your mind sometimes you've got to let your body ache. . 'Cause if you just set your sights on the truth that resides in each and every living thing - you'll find this life is such a finite thing. I know it weighs a thousand tonnes. I'd offer you my shoulder but you'll just run. I hope you find a place to rest this... Nothingness forever - we'll never get it together.
6.
All the years are falling down upon us know. I'm forced to smile when I think of all the why's and how's. It was drunk at 21 sitting at the bar; and it was just last weekend as we lined up for the coffee cart. All the years just fold in with the blankets now. I reach to find an empty space - they all cleared out. For a man of Brief Habits - it all seems to stick. Oh well. Hey, As time takes time away. I'll still hold onto you; and stay inside a memory that meant nothing to you. But everything to me.
7.
What you're doing tonight won't help you in the morning. Another night on the town. You're feeling so down - with a new day crawling in. What are you gonna do now? I know it weighs a thousand tonnes. I'd offer you my shoulder but you'll just run. I hope you find a place to rest your emptiness. What you're doing tonight won't help you in the long run. You're already well past young (and halfway done). What was lost? What was found? - when the World stopped spinning 'round. Now you're stuck where you are; trapped in the same place forever. Deep inside an empty drawer you hide the self that you once wore. All the dreams you swore you'd live by 24. You scream but make no sound.

Digital 03:42
So you're feeling a little under the weather. It seems to be that way quite often enough of late. And you're tired of the day-to-day and the week-after-week. Wake up in the morning. Stay in bed 'till noon. The fragrant scent of morning sinks into the room. You go out in the evening - all is black and grey. But the nothing feels okay. Sometimes it's hard to feel; and this World owes us nothing. If everything we do - we choose - then we're awfully unlucky. The truth is a risk. Won't you get a grip. The truth is a risk.
9.
I can't find -I don't have the time to change your mind. It calls from inside. This lack we can't hide. Is it ever gonna work? I just find I need more time out of time. It calls from inside. This lack we can't hide. Is it ever gonna work? We just fall into a part. Thown onto Earth. Still it could be so much worse. ''Oh Dan I Never wanted to stay, Oh Please just let me slip away'' Caught in the memory. Lost in your melody.

about

Brief Habits is a union of four friends living in Brisbane who spend most of their time writing, playing and talking about music. Following their debut self-titled LP (2017) with a powerful record that shows the band where they need to be, Teleport boldly leans into the deeply honest, autobiographical lyrics of Dan Rogan, while drawing in equal measure from pop elements and stellar song writing craft.

Recorded by the band in various rentals during the quiet moments between the responsibilities and pressures of your 30's. Brief Habits slow-burn intensity sometimes overflowing into huge moments that can easily sneak by the listener with their understated approach. But even as the energy surges, they cast an optimistic glow, serving up ambience and attack with equal measure. Lyrically, Teleport tries to sort through the wreckage with bright introspection, exploring all the delicate twists, turns rifts and revelations in between. The feeling of vulnerability lies at the core of Brief Habits music, which is part punk, part pop and all catharsis.
